The short version

MacMint is designed to run entirely on your Mac. It does not create an account, does not use cloud services, and does not send telemetry or analytics. File names, scan results, and file contents never leave your device.

  • No account, no cloud, no telemetry.
  • Scans happen locally on your Mac.
  • Cleanup moves items to the macOS Trash unless you explicitly choose permanent deletion.

What MacMint does with your data

MacMint reads local storage metadata so it can show you what is taking up space. Everything it finds — cache sizes, application data, large files, downloads — is presented only to you, on your device. Nothing is uploaded or shared.

  • Scan results are kept locally and disappear when you close the app.
  • Items you remove are moved to Trash so they stay recoverable until you empty it.
  • Personal files are never selected automatically.

Permissions

macOS protects certain folders and actions. MacMint asks for permission only when a scan or action needs it, and you stay in control:

  • Full Disk Access — lets deep scans see protected folders. MacMint also works in a limited mode without it.
  • App Management — lets macOS allow app uninstalls you explicitly request.

You can revoke either permission anytime in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

This website

This site hosts the MacMint download and contact page. Like most websites, the server may record standard technical information (such as the IP address and browser type) in its logs for security and operations. The contact form sends the name, email address, and message you enter directly to the MacMint support mailbox.
