Storage care, refined

Make room for what matters.

MacMint finds caches, developer storage, large files, and forgotten downloads — then lets you review everything before anything moves to Trash.

v0.6.5 · 8.4 MB · macOS 14+ · Intel & Apple Silicon

  • On-device only
  • Trash-first cleanup
  • No account needed

MacMint never auto-selects personal files. Removal uses macOS Trash so mistakes remain recoverable.

Smart Cleanup

What it does

Smart Cleanup deep-scans user and app-container caches, logs, browser and package-manager storage, Xcode data, simulator devices, Mail attachments, backups, and more.

  • Quick Clean selects only re-creatable user caches and logs.
  • Xcode data, Universal Binaries, backups, Mail, shared system files, and Trash always require review.
  • Search, filters, sorting, and Finder reveal help you inspect every item.

Installation Files

23 items

Exact unowned app containers appear immediately; ambiguous support files require 14 days of inactivity. Nothing is selected automatically.

What it does

MacMint inventories installed apps and matches each one to its caches, preferences, logs, saved state, and support folders. Uninstalling moves the whole group to Trash, and macOS may ask for App Management permission first.

  • Running applications are skipped.
  • Matched support files are listed before anything moves.
  • Installer packages and orphaned leftovers are reviewed separately.

What it does

Downloads accumulate quietly. MacMint gives you a clear, sortable list with sizes and dates so you can decide what is still worth keeping.

  • Search, category filters, and size/name/date sorting.
  • Select all, none, or only recommended items.
  • Confirmation before anything moves to Trash.

Trash Review

See what is already waiting in Trash — and decide whether it stays.

Nothing selected

What it does

Trash gives every cleanup a safety net. Items MacMint moves are recoverable until you empty it — and emptying Trash asks for a separate, explicit warning.

  • Permanent deletion requires its own confirmation.
  • Personal files are never selected automatically.
  • Reveal in Finder before making a decision.

Privacy & Safety

Scanning happens entirely on your Mac. No account, no cloud service, no analytics.

  • File names and contents are never uploaded — everything stays on your Mac.
  • No account, no cloud, no telemetry.
  • Permissions are requested only when a scan actually needs them.
  • Full Disk Access guidance is built into the app, with a limited-access mode as fallback.
  • Removal uses macOS Trash, so mistakes remain recoverable.

Why it matters

macOS protects Mail, browser, Documents, and application data. When a deep scan needs access, MacMint explains exactly why and links you straight to the right System Settings panel.
